The Performance Engineer will contribute to performance engineering practices, further performance test automation tools, and test fixtures, consult with product teams on performance test planning and execution, and analyze performance test results. What You’ll Do:

• Build test automation tool framework and evolve performance test tool approaches using state of the art technologies
• Craft simulations of real-world scenarios and workload patterns for load and scaling validation.
• Provide insights into architectural considerations related to performance engineering tools, including monitoring logs and telemetry
• Work closely with Scrum team/PO/PM to ensure reliability and resiliency concerns are factored into the design of the product and provide feedback with performance concerns.
• Examine faults and inefficiencies and identify the true root causes of performance issues.
• Understand business use cases, internal/external performance Benchmarks, debug performance issues, design performance testing framework, decision making on issues, technical assistance in performance analysis, and performance tuning of DB/OS/APIs.
• Good understanding of functional UI automation framework with hands-on scripting experience using Python or similar scripting languages.
• Test API and UI performance of new or updated APIs/UI within the sprint along with manual and automation testers.
• Using your knowledge of web-based SaaS applications, databases, operating systems, and cloud computing, you will run tests and analyze results by summarizing performance issues and suggestions for improvement.
• Provide technical guidance/coaching to Scrum teams on performance testing and UI automation.
• Member of the Shared Services team and work in a SAFe Agile organization

What You’ll Bring:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of experience with SaaS performance engineering
• 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in an automated testing environment
• 3 + years of working experience with Agile environment
• Knowledge of application performance metrics and analysis and define KPI’s.
• Recent experience using Java/Scala and Unix/Linux
• Recent experience using automated performance test tools such as JMeter and Gatling
• Experience in performance tests in Web UI and Microservice REST API
• Experience with building a Jenkins CI pipeline for performance/load tests automation and GitHub (or similar) source code repository.
• Recent experience in developing and executing formal test plans, data sets, and test configurations for performance tests
• Strong written, oral, and demonstration skills
• Ability to work effectively with product management, software development, and quality assurance
• Recent experience in functional UI and API automation using Python-based frameworks.
• Hands on experience working with multiple teams across the globe.

Bonus if:

• Experience in a microservice architecture is a plus.
• Experience performance testing cloud-based applications on Amazon Web Services • Worked with application performance monitoring tools (APM tools e.g. DataDog, Sumo Logic, App Dynamics, Dynatrace, etc.), a profiler for performance issue analysis
• Experience with Jenkins 2+ DSL pipelines
• Experience with managing projects with multiple dependencies
